Power in Praise Book Review
Power in Praise was written first over 40 years ago by Merlin R. Carothers, but still nowadays encourages many people with many powerful stories.
The keynote in this book is that praising God is to express our acceptance of any God’s work.
We accept God first for difficult situations too, then God changes something.
Take a look at and check out more details by reading this book!
My Action Items to bring His love to work
We come across difficult situations every day, especially at the workplace.
For example, I have to achieve my goal in a month but it could be impossible, or I have to fix this problem within a day but it may not be able to be done.
However, God wants us to accept this kind of difficult situation as it is; that is commandment from God and we have no right to refuse it there.
In order to accept everything from God with a willing heart, I would like to
- try to take my eyes off ‘this world’s things’, and to take an eternal point of view through prayers, which means I don’t want to be stuck only in the results or outcomes, but to love others through this process.
- remind me every single day that what I can see or think is so limited that I am not able to get the great love and plan from God, which I think helps to accept God’s work without understanding in my work.
What I have struggled to take my action items
It was hard for me to keep trying to take an eternal point of view, because the first thing which comes to mind is that I want to finish any difficult situation as soon as I can.
I don’t want to stay there, I want to feel comfortable getting out of it, I don’t want to see my brokenness….
These are my flesh ideas, and if you feel like me, you are never alone. Nobody is perfect.
However, God does not want us to stay our flesh ideas, He wants us to present our flesh ideas in front of Him instead.
It is not easy at all to be honest, but I wanna try to do that:)
